The Paperclip lamp was conceived and designed by Michael McGinn of Designframe, Inc.

John Balestrieri produced pre-production computer models of the lamp for designer Michael McGinn to explore different materials and configurations, based on sketches and specifications Michael provided. Final art was produced from the computer models for marketing and publicity materials.
